There's a new article in the cheaper by car news about this, take a look and comment.
http://www.cheaperbycar.co.uk/news/cheaper-by-car/run-your-car-on-water/

It appears that since the first article was written on Cheaper by Car last year, things have moved on and media have picked up on this subject a bit more.

Found any interesting links? Post them here.

very interesting!

I think there needs to be some kind of test done on Mythbusters or Top Gear for those websites that advertise water/petrol conversion kits to increase mpg by 40 - 70%...

There was an article on Cheaper by Car some time ago that talked about water powered cars.

http://www.cheaperbycar.co.uk/news/readers-comments/water-powered-car/

It sounds an almost perfect solution, but is it actually true! Seems unlikely, but then water is Hydrogen and Oxygen, and you can burn Hydrogen!

Diesel got to £1.30p this week in my local station, and there are reports that it's going to continue rising.

This might not be a bad thing though, we're already very over crowded on Britain's roads. How else will we get people to not use their cars other than increase the cost! This may not be the reason for the rise of course, but it could be advantageous in getting Chelsea tractors off the roads.

It hasn't been in the news for a few months, but I picked up this article when I was looking around at why the cost of train travel is so high.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2007/dec/01/consumeraffairs.moneysupplement1

Some of the costs have risen by up to 15% in the last year (up until Dec 07), and they're still rising.

Aparently, it's the train companies way of tackling over crowding!

A couple of weeks ago two colleagues and I had a business trip to go to in Brighton. We're up in North Hertfordshire, so it was quite a trek.

It's a journey we've done before and is about 115 miles.

In my car, which works out to around £0.32p per mile, including insurance, tax, MOT, etc. So that equates to £73.60 for a car journey which takes 2 hours each way.

This time we thought we'd give the train a try. It cost £32.50 each (£97.50) and took three and a half hours! One of the trains stunk, and we couldn't get a seat on either.

Overall, would have been far easier to sit in an air conditioned car.

Great work!

Yeah, the design work still needs looking at, but well done on getting it up and running.

It should be a great place for people to voice their opinions.

It's taken a while to get round to it, but Cheaper by Car now has its long awaited forum!

The design work is not completely finished, but the functionality should be all there.

If you have any ideas for improvements, please let us know in this topic.
